Description: A love story between a 13-year-old boy and a woman. From director of Student Services
Review: Risky and controversial film “Clement”, filmed in 2001, female director Emmanuel Berko – perhaps one of those purely copyright tapes, about which they say “strange” even seen a lot in their lives veteran fans of independent genre cinema. Until this picture Berko was repeatedly awarded the Cannes Film Festival, and “Clement” earned her third consecutive award – the youth jury prize.
The story told in the film, very frank, emotionally, but innocent in the context of adult entertainment of the protagonist, a role which, by the way, here she performed Burke. The moral of the fable is simple, and the sense here is on the surface, not hidden somewhere inside. For the series of episodes with numerous sex scenes and mental groans protagonist lies a simple story about freedom and love relationship that has no boundaries, which does not know the word “no.” Nudity is not fond of the director, so episodes of “physical proximity” the boy and the main character does not look more frankly than innocent erotic cinema, with emotionally tape hits the mark. Can somehow relate to the love of the heroine Berko, but it is impossible not to realize that it is sincere and pure. Like the movie itself, by the way – the theme of this very strange love revealed here seems to be on your best, even though «Clement» can not be called a perfect film on the subject – were far more rewarding picture, before him and after. And this despite the fact that the movie is very honest with his audience.
Film is not the type of stuff that you can recommend for review, but the festival of cinema lovers found the painting is definitely worth it. Smart, or intellectual, it certainly can not be called, but ambiguous – it is possible, and how. Therefore, the reaction of the majority of the film looked a totally unpredictable – for someone working Berko is a revelation, and someone finds it is not her own interest.
Perhaps the only thing all the critics agree – no matter the abuse or praising the work – a bold film. You have to be brave and at least an independent person to take it off. Exactly the same need to be brave to play a major role in – a complicated and controversial. One can go to talk about, you know all the “severity” of the role of Olivier Gerite, Clement played, but mostly (especially, in this case), the criterion of quality of this work is the end result, which is certainly worth it to appreciate this movie
